Low Isles is 200 hectares in size consisting in a small coral cay, a large mangrove island, mudflats, seagrass beds, and beautiful coral reefs. The coral cay and the mangrove island are separated by one common beautiful reef.
The cruise to Low Isles takes only 30 minutes on their band new comfortable vessel. The maximum numbers of passengers taken daily is 23 people so this is a personalised tour.
Calypso XI is the first one to get to the island so guests can explore the reef without any crowds, making it quite a special experience. The tour allows visitors to spend approximately 90 minutes snorkelling in the calm lagoon around the island or there is the option to go on a glass bottom boat tour as well. Accessing the reef is quite easy, it can be done from the back of the vessel or from the beach as the reef is close to shore.
Another attraction on the island is the historical Lighthouse and the Weather Station where local weather data is collected. Also there are many different species of birds on the island as sea birds breed and nest in the vegetation and on the ground.
This tour is perfect for visitors who have limited time and want to explore an amazing North Queensland tropical island.
