Kuranda is the most popular rainforest tour in Cairns, and this is because Kuranda is surrounded by the World Heritage Rainforest and Barron Gorge National Park. The rainforest is about 120 million years old.
Kuranda Village is very little and pretty and it is located 25 km northwest of Cairns or 45 minutes by car. But the best way to get to Kuranda Village is travelling by the skyrail or the train, this way travellers get to see and experience the Kuranda rainforest.
Kuranda is also famous for its market and wildlife parks located in the village. Everyday visitors can find stalls selling aboriginal arts, souvenirs, local produce and much more.The wildlife parks available in Kuranda are: Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld Kuranda, Koala Gardens and The Rainforestation. In this package customers travel up to Kuranda Village on the train and return to Cairns on the skyrail. This is the perfect combo so travellers don't miss out on anything. Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles. Hartley's Park visitors walk on 2100 metres of timber boardwalks and pathways through woodlands and rainforest. The park don´t have only crocodiles, they also have many other types of animals such as tropical birds, reptiles, insects and other native fauna.
Hartley's Crocodile Park offers awesome daily educational wildlife presentations on many animals such as snakes, cassowaries, koalas, crocodiles, quolls and much more. They also run boat cruises during the day on their lagoon with crocodile feeding included. It is definitely very interesting to see this gorgeous animals in their natural habitat.

Travel up to the Atherton Tablelands and have a great morning start with a 30 minute Hot Air Balloon Flight, and then catch the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, see the beautiful and famous Kuranda Village and travel down back to Cairns by the Scenic Railway. A day to remember forever.
Travel on a fast 50 minute catamaran ride across the Coral Sea and enjoy exploring the unique reef and rainforest coral cay of Green Island. Then cruise back to Cairns and travel up to Kuranda by the Scenic Railway and travels down back to Cairns on the famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.
Booking fees: Tourism Cairns do not charge any booking fees.
Deposit and final payment: At Tourism Cairns clients are required to pay a deposit only at the time of booking. Final payment is usually paid directly to the tour operator on the day of travel, depending on each tour operator's policy. Some tour operators request full payment at the time of booking.
Cancellation by the traveller: If the tour is cancelled by the client up to 7 days prior to departure, a full refund is applicable. If the tour is cancelled by the client 7 days prior to departure, the deposit amount might be retained. If the tour is cancelled by the client 48 hours prior to departure, 100% cancellation fee may apply.
Booking amendments: If the date of a tour needs to be changed, Tourism Cairns must be notified in writing by the client up to 48 hours prior to the tour date.
